It appears that during his time in Manila my pap attained the rank of Private First Class and received one stripe, as his honorable discharge papers give December 4, 1946 as the date of that rank.
Maybe he is wearing that strip on his army uniform here. What a cool picture. I don’t know where exactly this was taken in Manila (probably somewhere downtown near the military base), but it’s such a great shot of my pap standing there like a boss in the foreground with the old domed architecture in the background.
